When your new lawn has been installed, the first week or two will require consistent watering every few days to ensure the soil does not dry out. After this period, you should only need to water your Sir Walter Buffalo lawn once a week. In extreme conditions though your lawn may require extra watering. However, in the winter months it will rarely require irrigation.
How do I fertilise my new lawn?
Sir Walter needs to be top dressed with washed sand at a rate of half a cubic meter to every 100 square meters. Focus mainly on the joins and edges to stop it drying out. For the healthiest lawn fertilise at the start of each season.

Kikuyu Premium VG requires minimal maintenance to keep it looking vibrant and healthy. We generally recommend in the first 2 to 4 weeks to water regularly to help establish and develop its root system. Note, the soil under the lawn should be damp and not dry. After this period, it is fine to water once every 7 to 10 days.
Will Kikuyu Premium VG take over weeds in my backyard?
As it is a creeping grass, Kikuyu is excellent for blocking and preventing the spread of weeds throughout your backyard.
What can I use if weeds start appearing in my Kikuyu?

Once delivered simply lay the instant lawn on top of your soil and see the magic happen. In about 6 - 8 weeks the roots will get established, which you can check by simply pulling it off the ground. While it might seem like a time-saving step, we advise against laying new instant lawn over an existing lawn. The reason is that the new turf needs direct contact with the soil to establish a strong root system and absorb necessary nutrients. If placed over existing grass, the new turf's roots may struggle to penetrate through, leading to a less healthy lawn.
Additionally, the existing grass, deprived of sunlight and air, would likely wither and die. For the healthiest and most vibrant lawn, we recommend removing the old grass before laying the new instant lawn.
