Summer Veggies - The gift that keeps giving

Summer Veggies - The gift that keeps giving

I am talking veggies! To make it easier to plant out your Veggie patch, I have used a list of what is best to plant at this time of year and yes we are open on Saturdays to take your order but book early!!

Using our organic premium Veggie Mix soil, you will be able to create a garden that bears healthy vegetables. Remember for the best results, use the English Country Garden fine mulch to prevent weeds. Another fantastic idea if your soil is a little lack-lustre is dig through some of our organic Dig In Compost which will add back natural organic nutrients like nitrogen, magnesium and potassium to your existing soil.

Easy to grow veggies that you can plant right now in Summer include:

Amaranth, Basil, Beans, Beetroot, Bok Choy, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, Capsicum, Carrot, Chicory, Chilli, Chives, Coriander, Cucumber, Eggplant, Endive, Fennel, Leek, Lettuce, Okra, Onion, Oregano, Parsley, Parsnip, Pumpkin, Radish, Rhubarb, Rocket, Rockmelon, Shallot, Silverbeet, Squash, Sunflower, Swede, Sweet Corn, Tomato, Turnip, Watermelon and Zucchini.

In my own personal veggie patch at home, I used Veggie Mix from The Green Centre. My tomato, rocket and parsley have re-seeded from last year's crop, so it really is a great idea to have your own organic veggie patch.

There is nothing more joyful than harvesting and conusming your own organic vegetables. I can make my lunch using only what is in my garden right now I am harvesting tomatoes, cherry tomatoes (variety is the spice of life), curley leaf parsley, mint, strawberries, lettuce (a few varieties including the rocket) and Silver beet (yellow & red). I am still waiting to harvest my potatoes and capsicum. I even use my strawberries mixed with some ice-cream and milk in the nutri-bullet for a delicously cool, healthy drink for the children when they arrive home after school.

One of the best tips is to get someone to help you put in a simple watering drip watering system (and it isn't that difficult). This will make managing your watering much easier way, it is very easy to manage. Now I just have to beat the birds to the cherry tomatoes and strawberries!!!

Here are some pics I would like to share with you:
