Instant Turf Tips
Spring is a great time to lay your turf. As you are probably aware, the drought tolerant type grasses go dormant during Winter (approx. 80% colour), but they are now coming out of their dormant phase and greening up nicely. Drought tolerant turfs prefer the warmer weather.
WATERING
Less frequent and deeper watering helps promote deep root growth. The grass should be allowed to partly dry out between waterings. This lets in air to the root system, stimulates deeper root formation and creates a healthy more drought resistant lawn.
Water only when your lawn needs it.
MOWING
Low mowing will damage your lawn.
In shady areas mow to the highest recommended height.
Mow regularly at the following heights:
RTF 35-50mm
Sir Walter 20-40mm
Kikuyu 20-40mm
Couch- 15-30mm

Right again TGC. Frequent mowing at the desired height will give you a lovely even, healthy looking lawn.
IF you mow too low, thinking to save yourself some time later on, you risk scalping your lawn. This will result in a patchy look and also allow the lawn to dry out much more quickly.
Longer blades left at the desired height help retain moisture.
